In 2010, Emma Beck’s second child, Mary, was sadly stillborn at 36 weeks. On 22nd July her documentary “We Need to talk about Stillbirth” was aired on Radio 4. In it, she asks why the stillbirth rate is still so high, and looks at the research that needs to be undertaken to reduce the number of babies who are stillborn every day in the UK.
Sands worked closely with Emma to develop the documentary and while there was not room for us to be interviewed as part of it in the end we were mentioned. Our helpline details were also posted on the web page and we were mentioned in Emma’s accompanying article for the BBC website. We also helped promote it on social media. It was received really well on social media and led to a lot of engagement.
