Huddersfield and Halifax Sands, a local branch of Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity is hosting a Masquerade Ball to raise funds and vital awareness.

Thousands of babies tragically die each year. In 2013, 5712 babies were stillborn or died soon after birth in the UK, shattering the lives of expectant parents, their families and their friends and the people who have cared for them.
It’s hoped that the charity ball will raise awareness of the support available to bereaved families in the local area and allow midwives to attend the Sands’ Bereavement Care Training for Professionals.
Rachael Brann, Chair of Huddersfield and Halifax Sands, said:
“We are really excited to be hosting the Masquerade Ball. We hope it will go a long way in making bereaved families aware of how we can help them, particularity as its taking place in Baby Loss Awareness Week. Funding Bereavement Care training for midwives is imperative to the quality of care that bereaved parents receive in hospital.”
If anybody would like any further information they can contact Rachel Brann on huddersfieldsands@yahoo.co.uk. Tickets are priced £30 each.
